Bowen - 18 months and a haircut

18 Months/First day of nursery:

Bowen turned 18 months on January 1st. You better believe we had been looking forward to it for awhile, for one reason alone: NURSERY! Between the time babies are mobile - especially walking - and 18 months old, church is just not very enjoyable. Keeping Bowen happy and quiet without disturbing everyone was quite impossible! The good news is that he loves nursery! He probably wonders why it took us so long to finally let him go to his own class! Yesterday when we went to pick him up after church he was playing with a ball and just having a blast. He was so happy to be there!

We finally decided Bowen was overdue for a haircut. I've known it for awhile, but just wasn't sure how do go about cutting it. One night we had Trever just use the clippers for the back of it. It looked much better after that. A few days later we decided to just do the front, too. I think it turned out super cute, and it makes him look like a toddler and not a baby! Kind of sad, but he is really learning and growing up lately, which is fun to experience.

Some of Bowen's favorite things right now:
He loves books - he loves to be read to and will sit for several minutes at a time looking at books. He loves "football!" - everytime we pass all the TV's at Walmart he yells, "Football!" He enjoyed all the football displays at Walmart leading up to the Super Bowl. (Yes, we are Walmart regulars - it is our one-stop shop!) He loves playing with his sisters and following them around thinking he's just as big - he is more than happy to play Barbies, Strawberry Shortcake, Ponies, etc. But, don't worry, he loves playing outside in the dirt and rocks, and will often use all kinds of toys as some sort of weapon, and bangs them on something while yelling "Ahhh!" - so there is plenty of "boy" in that kid! He is definitely a Mama's boy, but gets super excited when Dad comes home and yells, "Dada!!!" and runs to his Daddy. He still loves his blankies, and has to have two of his blankies laying down in his bed, with the "silky" side facing up so he can snuggle his face into them. We probably shouldn't admit this, but he is a Justin Bieber fan, thanks to his older sisters. He often says, "Bebe, bebe ohhhhh!" (singing the "ohhhhh!" in his very high-pitched voice) when he gets in the car, which is his request for "Baby, baby," by Justin Bieber.

Bowen is such a sweet, sweet boy, with an occasional spunk. I couldn't imagine life without him in our family! His sisters adore him, as do Trever and I!
