Fun Run

Saturday was the 29th Annual Osteopathic Fun Run here in Kirksville. Trever ran the 10K, and I ran the 5K with Liberty in the jogging stroller. It was a lot of fun! I had only been running once since I had Liberty before this run, so it was pretty challenging. The best part were the hills! I was the only one in the 5K or 10K that was pushing a stroller, so I felt pretty good about it all. Trever on the other hand, got a Silver medal in his division!!! He's awesome, huh!? I was so proud of him! He has been making an effort to exercise almost every day, and has done great. He is planning on doing a triathlon in July in Illinois, so he has been training hard. I think Liberty slept during the entire race - or at least didn't make a peep! She loved it! Oh, and the weather was perfect!

Daddys & Daughters

Last Friday one of the clubs at Trever's school sponsored a Barbeque at the lake. Trever was so excited for a braut. He even waited in line at the grill for at least 15 minutes for one! He said he didn't think it'd take that long. I brought Mom's famous Calico Beans, which of course was gone in no time! It was a great evening with beautiful weather, a nice location, and excellent company - oh, and yummy food! It was definitely needed after a long week for everyone. We thought this was definitely a great photo-op' with 3 dads and their daughters. This is Trever & Libby, Tyler & Maeva, and Steve & Sarah.

Five months today!

Libby turned 5 months old today! We can't believe it! These pictures are all taken in the last few days. The ones in the grass were taken in our back yard. She was really unsure about the grass. The first time I took her out there I couldn't get her to even look up from the grass. The second time I brought Trever with me, and we could barely get her to look up a little bit, but not even close to a smile. We tried everything! She's cute, huh!?

Please forgive me...

I had to do one more. I was actually going to switch this one out for the last one I posted, but there were already comments and I didn't want to offend anyone. Just don't watch this if you're sick of them. :)

We love Spring!

We FINALLY got some beautiful weather! We took advantage and went on a picnic at the park! Liberty is getting so much better at sitting up, and is almost doing it without tipping over. I love it. Liberty's friends are Clark & Maeva. Clark is Liberty's "twin." They were born a few hours apart, right next door to each other!

Another video...

I have been going crazy with taking videos of Liberty. I heard a loud sucking noise from the other room, and came in to find her sucking on her toes. She was working very hard at it! Make sure your volumne is turned up so you can hear her.

Last one...I promise!

Okay, hopefully you aren't sick of jumping Libby pictures. She still LOVES the jumper, and we can't get enough of watching her in it. She will jump, and jump, and jump, and jump! And she's usually smiling or hyperventilating because she likes it so much.

Liberty's New Cousin

Andalyn Camille Wilkins was born on Tuesday, April 10th. We are so excited to have another baby girl in the family! I just LOVE her hair! We can't wait to meet little Andalyn! Congratulations Kacey and Camille!

Reading books

I just love this picture! Liberty really enjoys it when I read to her. She loves looking at the pictures, listening to the words, and likes to help me turn the pages. Even when she is hyped up, she will calm down and sit and listen to a story. I love it! She also likes to just look at books by herself. Reading to your children and exposing them to books at a very young age is so important. I really want my kids to enjoy reading as they're growing up. So far so good with Libby!

Jumpin' Libby!

A friend of mine let us borrow her jumper thing for Liberty. We've had it for 3 days now, and she gets better and better at it each day! She totally loves it and gets so excited when I put her in it. It is nice to be able to take it wherever I need to keep her entertained for a little bit. It is perfect for when I'm cooking, putting the laundry away, showering, etc. And, the best part is that she is getting exercise! Today I put a full-length mirror in front of her while she jumped. She loved watching herself! Hopefully she'll like it for awhile. I will definitely buy one for my next baby. I'll post some video clips. It cracks me up watching her play in it.

Time to retire the ol' swing???

Liberty's favorite place to nap is in her swing. I heard her talking
and playing, and went into her room to find her like this. Is it time
to pack up the swing and move on before she figures out how to
get out? So sad!

A little audience participation...

All you self-proclaimed bloggers, I need a little help. I want to buy some more books for Libbs, and am open for suggestions. What books have your little kids enjoyed you reading to them? Or, any favorite children's books of your own? Let's hear it! Liberty loves to read books.

Check me out!

Liberty has discovered her feet and toes. Her new trick is grabbing her toes and hanging on as long as she can. She even likes to use her feet to kick and play with toys.

Liberty's First Easter

Happy Easter!

We must have been good this year, because the Easter Bunny found us! We had a really nice Easter. My only complaint was that is was way too cold! I think the high was in the low 40's today. At least it was sunny though. My goal today was to be on time to church - I almost made it. I think we pulled into the parking lot at 1:02 - only 2 minutes late. I was happy with that, but I'd still like to someday get there before it starts.

I think Liberty enjoyed her first Easter. She enjoyed all the goodies the Easter Bunny brought and the things Grandma sent. She looked so cute in her Easter attire. She has been so full of energy lately, and just LOVES attention from anyone and everyone. She will smile at anyone that talks to her. I think her great-big, wide-open mouth smile surprises some people. I just love it when she smiles so big that her eyes light up, and her hairline moves back.

We had some friends over for Easter dinner, which was really nice. I tried to mimic mom's yummy scalloped potatoes, calico beans, and carrot cake. I don't think they quite measured up to hers, but they were pretty darn good. I also cooked up some ham to go with it. I tried to buy a spiral baked ham, but they were all out at both HyVee and Walmart (the only stores here). I guess next time I'll buy my ham sooner than they day before a big holiday! Our friends also brought a frog-eye salad, a green salad with some tasty dressing, and some breadsticks. It was quite the feast. I think we all finished and realized we had all eaten more than we should have. It was a holiday, so I guess it was okay! By the way, I told Trever that I missed Dad's deviled eggs today - he's pretty good at it. I wonder if he made them this year. I boiled some eggs to make some, but I ran out of time. Maybe tomorrow.

We took some Easter pictures of Libby - there are so many cute ones and I couldn't decide which to post, so I will put together a slide show. We had planned on taking a picture of all of us together, but we ran out of time before our friends got here. Oh well, I think most of you just want to see Liberty anyway!

We hope everyone enjoyed their Easter. It was nice to celebrate such a special day, and rejoice in the life of our Savior Jesus Christ, and all He has done for us.

Congrats Gowdys!

Our good friends here in the 'ville just had a baby boy this morning! Congrats John & Jessica! We're so happy for them and can't wait to meet the little guy! We know Ellie will be a great big sister too!

***We got to go see baby William Cade Gowdy today! He is one, cute baby. I couldn't believe how tiny he was! Ahhh, how babies grow so fast! Jessica looked amazing and it was only a day after the delivery. Way to go Jessica! This is a picture of our visit - Kathryn, Me & Libby, Melissa & Maeva, Jessica & Cade. We're so excited to have a baby BOY around!

***Is this picture better, Jess?

Happy Birthday Camille!

Just wanted to wish our sister-in-law & Libby's aunt a Happy Birthday! We hope it was a great one Camille! Hopefully you did something fun to celebrate! We love you!

Liberty

Check-up

Liberty had her 4-month check up today! She is actually 4 months, 2 weeks, & 2 days old though. So here are Libby's stats: 17 lbs, 8 oz and 26 inches long. She is in the 95th percentile for her height and off the charts for her weight! And, with her height and weight combined, she's in the 75th percentile. I don't think she is going hungry! The doctor said she is very healthy! Oh, and she is STILL getting cuter everyday!

Happy Anniversary Troy & Emily!

Today is also Emily & Troy's 8th wedding anniversary! Eight years of pure bliss! I hope you guys enjoyed your little weekend getaway. Here's to more and more years of happiness! Happy Anniversary! Love you guys!

Happy Birthday Jessica!

Today is my niece Jessica's 15th birthday! Happy Birthday Jess! I can't believe she is 15! It's pretty scary to think she'll start driving this year. I wish her the best birthday today and a wonderful year! Can't wait to hear how it went. Love ya Jess!
