We must have been good this year, because the Easter Bunny found us! We had a really nice Easter. My only complaint was that is was way too cold! I think the high was in the low 40's today. At least it was sunny though. My goal today was to be on time to church - I almost made it. I think we pulled into the parking lot at 1:02 - only 2 minutes late. I was happy with that, but I'd still like to someday get there before it starts.
I think Liberty enjoyed her first Easter. She enjoyed all the goodies the Easter Bunny brought and the things Grandma sent. She looked so cute in her Easter attire. She has been so full of energy lately, and just LOVES attention from anyone and everyone. She will smile at anyone that talks to her. I think her great-big, wide-open mouth smile surprises some people. I just love it when she smiles so big that her eyes light up, and her hairline moves back.
We had some friends over for Easter dinner, which was really nice. I tried to mimic mom's yummy scalloped potatoes, calico beans, and carrot cake. I don't think they quite measured up to hers, but they were pretty darn good. I also cooked up some ham to go with it. I tried to buy a spiral baked ham, but they were all out at both HyVee and Walmart (the only stores here). I guess next time I'll buy my ham sooner than they day before a big holiday! Our friends also brought a frog-eye salad, a green salad with some tasty dressing, and some breadsticks. It was quite the feast. I think we all finished and realized we had all eaten more than we should have. It was a holiday, so I guess it was okay! By the way, I told Trever that I missed Dad's deviled eggs today - he's pretty good at it. I wonder if he made them this year. I boiled some eggs to make some, but I ran out of time. Maybe tomorrow.
We took some Easter pictures of Libby - there are so many cute ones and I couldn't decide which to post, so I will put together a slide show. We had planned on taking a picture of all of us together, but we ran out of time before our friends got here. Oh well, I think most of you just want to see Liberty anyway!
We hope everyone enjoyed their Easter. It was nice to celebrate such a special day, and rejoice in the life of our Savior Jesus Christ, and all He has done for us.

Sounds like a good feast. We have a big feast like that with Mike's parents. I usually make rolls and funeral potatos. I want your recipe for calico beans.

You didn't post any pics of Liberty in her Easter dress! I'm so happy you two had a great Sunday away from your families. I bet the feast of your mom's Easter classics made the holiday feel more like home.
Libby is too cute, she is getting so big. Sound like you had a great Easter. Isn't is so much fun too share Holiday's with your kids, it just makes it that much more special. Yeah where are the pictures of her Easter dress I am sure it was fantastic since she always has on the cutest clothes.
Erin & Crystal - Either you guys got sick of the slide show and didn't wait for the pictures of her in her Easter dress, or the slide show isn't work. Which one is it? You can speed up the slide show ya know!!! Let me know if it isn't working.
Katie, I'm so sad we missed one of your delicious meals!! I did try to mimic your yummy potroast though. We need to have you guys over soon! Liberty did look darling on easter and it looks like she got a great litte basket!
Libby is so cute. I love all the pics. Looks like you had a fun Easter. I have the same goal about arriving to church on time. Please just one day can I make it before the opening hymn. The problem is, Matthew's mom saves us a seat on the front row every week! LOVE IT! Hey...I don't know where in Missouri you are but are you anywhere close to Mexico, Missouri???
I LOVE Libby's dress! So cute and so Easter-y. She is such a fun girl to look at in pictures. SO much personality. Aren't holidays so much more fun with kids?
