For the birds..

The other day Trever went out on the back deck. He heard some birds that sounded really close, but couldn't see any around. He opened the lid of the bar-be-que, and some birds flew out and this is what he found! They were making a nest in our bar-be-que. Kind of neat, but kind of gross too. Trever is going to sanitize it before we use it again for sure!

BFF

The girls took a trip to Columbia yesterday for a much needed K'ville getaway. Liberty and her friend Maeva are 5 months apart, but Liberty is catching up to Maeva in size very fast! They also had a play date today while Melissa got her hair done. They enjoyed exploring each other's feet and toes, hands, ears, and faces. I made sure they didn't pick on each other too much.

Sad, sad story...

Liberty has been so close to rolling over, but just hasn't quite gotten it. So a couple days ago we went grocery shopping. When we got home, I layed Liberty on the floor on her blanket ON HER BACK while I brought the groceries up. So I went down and got some groceries and I came up, and she was on her tummy. SHE HAD ROLLED OVER and I MISSED IT! I was SOOOOOOO sad! So then, I sat down by her and tried to get her to do it again so I could see her do it. I tried for like 5 minutes, but she wasn't even trying. So I went back down for another load. And of course, I came back and she was on her tummy AGAIN! I missed the second roll-over! I was totally crushed! And, to make matters worse, she still hasn't done it since then, so I have yet to see her trick. Hopefully I won't miss any more of her "firsts." I did get pictures of her on her tummy both times... does that count for anything? The second time she was not happy about her arms being stuck underneath her. I'm still so sad about this!

Laughing Libby

We are always trying to figure out different ways to get Liberty to laugh. Trever & I just LOVE to hear her little giggle! A lot of times it is by accident that we do something that makes her laugh, so we do it over and over. Tonight I put her on the glider and I was sitting on the ottoman of the glider and we were both rocking and I was singing to her, and just trying to keep her entertained. My throat got dry so I made a little tiny cough, and she laughed. So I did it more and she laughed everytime! Trever learned the other day that rubbing his face on Libby's tummy makes her laugh.

Liberty's Giggle

Check me out!

Liberty loves looking at herself in the mirror. She will smile at herself most of the time - even without me urging her to smile. After her naps I take her into the bathroom to see herself and she smiles everytime... even if she woke up a little cranky. It makes her happy right away. I bought her some toys the other day, and one of them was this mirror. She loves looking at herself in it, and it also helps her tummy-time last longer.

Strollin' Big-girl Style!

Liberty got to go on a ride in her stroller "big-girl style" for the first time a few days ago. She loves just looking at everything as we go around the neighborhood. We are so glad that the weather has been so nice so we can get out of the house and enjoy it!

Games

I really enjoy playing games...board games, card games, etc. The only problem is, we don't have any! Last night we played Settlers of Catan with some friends, and it was so fun. I'm finally figuring out the rules! I even tied for last place, and still enjoyed it. Does anyone have any favorite games they like to play? I'm thinking of investing in some. Feel free to make some suggestions!

Wild Chick!

Yesterday I layed Liberty on her back on top of her blanket (completely spread out) on the floor. I went into the other room for less than five minutes and I came back to this! Doesn't she look a little suspicious!?

Family Pictures

So we were so lucky to get our family pictures taken by Angie & Matt of Sloan Photographers. Angie is a good friend of mine, so it was a lot of fun. They do such an amazing job! Here are a few to look at, and here is a link to more of our pictures on their blog. Also, check out my sister Emily and her family's pictures too. We got them taken at the same time. The Sloan's are awesome photographers, huh?!

Another babe of 2006

Liberty also has a cousin, Cooper, born in July, 2006! This picture is from Christmas, and I can't believe how much Liberty has grown and changed since this picture! I'll have to get another updated picture of these babes.

The Babes of 2006!

Liberty and 4 cousins on Trever's side of the family were all born within 4 months of each other! We got a picture taken with all of them the other day. It will be so fun to watch them grow up together. From oldest to youngest there is Gavin, Tessa, Avery, Liberty, and Ryder - and with their moms Michelle, Chandy, Stephanie, Katie, and Katie. Aren't the babies just so cute!? The moms are too :)

We love Arizona!

Liberty & I have been in Arizona for the last few days and are loving it! Of course, we miss Trever like crazy, but this weather can't be beat! We went from 16 degrees (8 with the wind chill factor), snow, and no sun in Missouri, to 70-80 degrees and the sun shining in less than 3 hours of flying! It's amazing how different it can be only halfway across the country. The sad thing is that we will have to go back to the cold in less than 2 weeks. We are enjoying time with family and friends, and we were even able to drive to a mall in 15 minutes today!

We miss you Trever! You're almost there! Keep up the hard work!
