Winter Fun

We had another Children’s Social (which I am co-in charge of) for January. This month we did “Winter Festivities,” where there were several different activities for the kids to participate in that simulated winter activities, such as a snowball fight with rolled up socks, ice-skating on a pretend rink, getting all dressed up in snow clothes, shoveling and plowing snow (cotton balls), making snowmen out of marshmallows, etc. There were about 75 kids and 40 moms there, so it was quite the event. Liberty loved it, as always.

Nebraska

We decided to join our friends, the Rynearson’s, and head to Omaha, Nebraska to visit Winter Quarters. We drove over on Friday, and met Geri, Dan & Hollyn at Macaroni Grill for dinner. It was so fun to spend some time with them, and get a taste of family and home! On Saturday, we were able to trade babysitting with Katie & Scott and we got to do a session at the Winter Quarters temple. It was a beautiful temple, and it’s always so neat to visit a new temple. We also went to the Winter Quarters visitor center and learn more about the pioneers and their trek. It was a little more “authentic” since it was an especially cold weekend while we were there. The more I learn about the pioneers and their experiences, the more I appreciate them. They were amazing, and had so much faith, and had to endure so much hardship. We were so glad we got to take this little trip!







We also got to do a little shopping at the mall. Liberty got to play in the play area with Maddie & Bella, and absolutely loved it. She would have played there all day if we let her! She crawled through tunnels, went up and down the slide, and just ran and played!

Back in the swing of things

We really wonder what goes through Liberty's head a lot. After being in Arizona for 3weeks, and enjoying lots of extra attention from grandmas, grandpas, aunts, uncles and cousins, Liberty had to go back to regular ol' life. Not only did she have to go back to spending most of the day just hanging out with Mom, but she had to go back to cold weather, and staying inside a lot. I'm sure she wondered what happened to all of her family and friends! I actually felt kind of sad for her. I decided I was going to do my best to keep her entertained, give her more time to play with her friends, and just get out of the house often. Luckily, we have exercise group Monday through Friday, so she at least gets to play every morning for an hour. One of her favorite things in Arizona was Becky's dog "Coco." After we got back to Missouri, I'd ask her "Where's Coco?" And she'd always look and point outside.

Christmas Break in AZ

Hello Sunny Arizona!

It's always a big contrast going from Missouri to Arizona. Oh how we LOVE Arizona winters! We had such a great time in Arizona this Christmas break. We were able to spend lots of time with family, meet up with friends, and soak in the sun! Liberty played outside probably every single day. As soon as she would get out there, she would run and giggle, and always had a big smile on her face. We were able to do fun things like eat out at great restaurants, go to a movie, golf, lots of shopping, go to the Insight Bowl, see the Arizona Temple lights, and just enjoy time away from Trever's school. I also enjoyed a little break from cooking and cleaning. Thanks Mom! We were all spoiled with lots of fun and attention while we were there!
