Trever went on a scout campout this weekend (his new church calling is the 11-year-old scout leader). I knew there was a parade on Saturday morning. The few days leading up to it I debated and debated whether or not I was going to take the kids. I knew they'd love it, I just didn't know if it was worth all the "work" to go. I was still debating the night before, and didn't even tell them that we were going to go to a parade. Saturday morning, I decided to be brave and do it! Plus, it would make the day go by fast waiting for Trever to get back. (It's always nice to have something fun to do to entertain the kids.)
The parade was the kick-off for Andy Devine Days, and it was in downtown Kingman. I miraculously got us all ready to go and made it with time to spare. We found a decent parking spot amid the crowds, and walked to the parade route, still with 15 minutes left before it started. The best part about it was that we found a great spot to watch the parade, complete with SHADE! There was even a nice lady next to us that "helped" me with the kids here and there.
Anyway, the parade was a total hit! The girls LOVED it, especially Liberty. Bowen was his cool, calm self as usual, except for refusing to take a bottle. He decided to sleep instead. Liberty and Hadley got enough candy so that if we didn't get a single piece at Halloween, they would still be okay. Apparently if you have a float in the parade you automatically hand out lots of candy. Liberty got really good at racing other kids for the candy. Hadley just held the bag for the candy, and ate a "few" pieces during the parade. She also took waving back at the participants pretty seriously. The parade was over an hour long, and really was pretty entertaining for all of us.

haha I know exactly how you feel. I'm realizing that any trip with multiple kids is work. It's usually worth it though. Way to be brave!
I know exactly what you mean all the "work"! What a great mom! The kids all look ao cute! I think Bowen looks like Trever! Glad to see things are good there!
Look at you! What a great Momma! Taking three kiddos to a parade by yourself deserves some kind of award. :) The kiddos are all so grown up and cute! Bowen sure is a handsome little guy. :)
You are a brave lady! Braving big crowds by yourself with 3 kids! I am glad all went well and that all of you enjoyed it so much.
