TGIF

When Trever works during the weekend, it doesn't really feel like a weekend. Obviously the kids don't know the difference, but I do. I always debate whether to treat it like a weekend and plan fun things, or treat it like any other day so I'm not as bummed that Trever is working on the weekend. Tonight actually felt like a Friday night, aside from Trever not being home. We had "fancy" nachos for dinner - what I think of as a weekend meal - complete with guacamole for the girls to devour, sour cream, corn, beans, cheese, and tomatoes. After dinner, Bowen went to bed, so we had some girl-time. Liberty had talked to Becky on the phone earlier, and apparently she told Liberty she needed to make some sort of racetrack for toy cars to drive one. Together, Liberty, Hadley, and I created a little town to drive our cars on. Liberty was in charge of the project, and told me what to include in our town: the Wilkins' house, the gym, church, Costco, Dad's hospital, a park, Kaelene's house (her new friend), and Mango's (Papa, Grandma, and Becky ate their today which reminded Liberty how much she liked eating there, so that was on her mind.). I drew most of the buildings - I'm quite the artist - and I sure impressed Liberty! Liberty meticulously colored in the buildings and parking lots, and I bet you can guess from the pictures which parts Hadley contibuted to. Afterwards, we drove around and visited all of our favorite places. It sure was nice sitting down with the 3 of us and having a little weekend fun!

*Notice Hadley is sporting another swimsuit.

*Earlier, we made a fort for the girls to play in.

I caught Hadley "reading" the friend. I love when the girls just sit down and look at books and magazines.

I know what you mean about the weekends not feeling like they really are FSS. My husband works weekends too. I had a hard time with it at first but now it's some good one on one time with my kids. We also have a tradition of going to get Chinese every Saturday. When Mike is home on the weekends it throws our groove off. But I like that he has a mid-week day off where we can do things together when the stores aren't so crowded.

What a fun mom you are! I could take some lessons from you. And Liberty cracks me up with all her posing- a model in the making for sure!
