I've been saying for a long time that I'd take Liberty to Build-a-bear for her second birthday. Trever and I had gone to the mall on Friday, and saw a Build-a-bear store, so we decided to take Liberty in. I planned to have Liberty choose everything, but was a little nervous as to what she would pick. We walked up to all the animals, and I asked "Which one do you like, Liberty?" She immediately pointed to the pink spotted cat. It was super cute, so I was happy with her choice. We asked her again to make sure that's what she wanted. It was between the pink cat or the bear with pink hearts - her favorite color is pink. (She tells me that all day long.) So we went with the pink cat. Next, she helped stuff the "kitty-cat," including kissing the heart that goes inside, and rubbing it on her tummy for good luck. As soon as the bear was stuffed and ready to go, she gave it a big hug. She was pretty serious about it, but really loved her new "kitty-cat." She then gave her a "bath" and brushed her fur. Then we went over to check out the clothes. Right away, she found a silver "fancy dress" and siad, "kitty-cat likes this." It wasn't my favorite outfit, but despite me trying to persuade her to go for a pink skirt, she kept telling me, "kitty-cat likes this" about the silver shirt. So I showed her the pink sparkly sweater that went with the silver skirt, and she said the kitty-cat liked it. Then I gave her a few choices of shoes for the kitty, and she picked the glass slippers, and once again said, "kitty-cat likes these ones." So, we dressed Kitty-Cat and got her ready to go. In the meantime she kept finding more outfits, including the princess dresses, so I figured we better get out of there quick! But first, we filled out the birth certificate on the computer. I asked her what the kitty's name was, and all she came up with was "Kitty-Cat." So Kitty-Cat it is! I then saw a miniture version of the pink spotted cat. I showed it to Liberty and asked her, "Who should we get this baby one for?" She looked at the cat and immediately said, "Baby Hadley!" Of course we had to get it!
Since then, Liberty has wanted to take Kitty-Cat at the baby kitty everywhere we go! The good thing is that she is okay with the rule about leaving them in the car. She always has to have both of them together though. We'll see if she'll actually give Hadley her baby kitty when she comes. She also sleeps with them, and even had to get a chair for her when she sat in her chair to watch a show.
